The Band Manager oversees general management of the organization according to the direction set by Chief and Council. Coordinates the development of a vision and a strategic plan with Council. Sets goals while measuring the achievements of the organization's objectives of all programs and departments. Works with the Council to focus on establishing effective working relationships with community groups, funding agencies, government officials and other external contacts. Ensures that the financial department is economically developed, grant applications and fiscal restraint. The band manager is a skilled administrator who is responsible for the success leadership of the management team within the organization.

Performs array of administrative duties; assist staff and Band Manager with administration functions like, scheduling, events, meeting and day to day office duties. Assist in achieving the organization goals set by the Band Administrator. Provides dedicated support and service to Chief and Council, handles meeting minutes and ensures that efficient governance practices are in place. Stays in target with annual goals and the commitments to the membership.

As receptionist and communications coordinator, I handle various duties and responsibilities. I greet members and visitors as they come in. Provide a welcoming environment, nicely announce their arrival, and direct them to the appropriate department. As well as answer the phone, forward calls, and take down messages. I assist wherever needed, whether that be filing, coping, or keeping the office in clean state. With the communications part, I keep members informed on behalf of the organization. I create media content, social media posts (Shackan website, Facebook, Phonevite, etc). Promote the organization accurately through the channels and initialize interviews for Shackan Band.
