The Community Wellness assists in advancing the health and wellness for membership. Provides access and support to services by working closely with Health Entities or community organizations in the development and implementation for members. Assessing members and approved patient education programs that are culturally appropriate and representative of the Shackan Members. Providing the best care with the combination of western and traditional aboriginal care practices that approaches are integral to the success of this program.
As a social worker, They will be involved with SCFSS to support our families that are needing assistance and organizes family circles, meetings etc. Assist the evacuees with funding and assistance like food, accommodations gas and travel. Social Development handles the Social Assistants, a monthly benefit that is for Band members to receive help when they live on reserve.
Assisting the Community Members health with emotional, mental, physical and spiritual support. Coordinating with Scw'exmx Community Health Services Society to ensure the members have their medical needs tended to Organizing Wellness circler for mental health support with community members by promoting a safe wellness journey. Assisting Elders with needs, medical appointments, and connecting with health organizations to provide our membership with the best health services.
As the education coordinator she will work with our students, the Universities, the schools, and the youth workers. Asses the needs of students, plans, develops, implements and executes while coordinating with the institutions. Deals with post secondary funding that covers the tuition, books, supplies and living allowance. Makes sure the Education Policy Guidelines are being followed. Shackan provides assistance to students Kindergarten to Grade 12 that are on our Nominal Roll. This is an annual census of eligible students.
